The Olympics!

During the month of February we will be learning about the Olympics, Sochi and Russian culture.

 We are all winners in our olive branch wreaths.

I gave the children a team challenge - after learning about the rings and their meanings, they had to create an Olympic flag with  no guidance from me. Each team came up with a different idea!

We learned about the Olympic torch, read information about it and watched a short video about it. Then we made a torch of our own!

Look at our homes!!

We focused our reading and creative activities on "homes" this week.

We discussed a number of artistic painting of houses and then we looked at how people in less fortunate places may live.

Then we created our own houses!
